Prayer and Fasting

Fasting is powerful! Fasting is the most powerful spiritual discipline. The inner practice that leads to outward change. Fasting can be regarded as an act of desperation for a move of God. In the Bible, the people who were led to fast needed something from God such as divine wisdom, guidance, repentance, salvation, or victory in battles. Fasting says, "I need more of You" and "I can't do this without You." "Enough is enough." I Need a Divine Intervention." "I need a breakthrough."

You must be prepared to spend time in the presence of the Lord. Do you need to have a more intimate relationship with God? Spend time in prayer and fasting. Fasting and praying go together. In order to see a great move of God in your life, you have to get desperate for more of God in your life.

Spend time in personal consecration

  • Confess every sin that the Holy Spirit reminds you of and accept God’s forgiveness (1 John 1:9).
  • Seek forgiveness from anyone you have offended and forgive anyone who has hurt you (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4).
  • Make amends with people as the Holy Spirit leads you.
  • Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit according to His command in Ephesians 5:18 and His promise in 1 John 5:14-15.
  • Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Master and refuse to obey your worldly nature (Romans 12:1-2
  • Pray verses of (Psalm 51).
If you want to hear from God, set aside ample time to be alone with Him. Listen for His leading. The more time you spend with Him, the more meaningful your fast will be.

Read the book of Esther there you will see how God delivered His people. The Lord is able to deliver you from all evil.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever Amen (Matthew 6:13).
(Esther 4:16) Queen Esther asked that Mordecai would gather all the Jews and fast along with her for three days without food or water. Esther was desperate to save the Jews (her people) from being killed (Esther 4:16).

Cornelius fasted four days for the salvation of his family. An angel of the Lord appeared and told him that God had heard his prayers (Acts 10:30).

When you fast and pray it helps you to keep your eyes on Jesus. Stay focused and stay in the presence of the Lord. You will hear God's voice more clearly.
